THE OBJECT
Vanille Insensée by Atelier Cologne is a dry, woody interpretation of vanilla, balancing citrus brightness with aromatic herbs, moss and warm amber.
Italian citron, lime and coriander create a crisp, lightly spiced opening. Egyptian jasmine, Haitian vetiver and Slovenian oakmoss introduce a greener, earthier character through the heart before Bourbon vanilla, amber and English oak form a warm yet restrained base.
Created by perfumer Ralf Schwieger and released in 2011, Vanille Insensée avoids the dense sweetness associated with many gourmand vanillas. Citrus and vetiver keep the composition lifted, while oak and amber give the vanilla a drier, more textured finish.
Presented here in a 1.7 ml sample vial, offering a small format for discovering the fragrance.
